1. Apr 5, 2012 - EPPB can now decrypt.rem files from BlackBerry SD cards. Depending on media card encryption settings you may be asked to provide BB.

Dec 27, 2011  Sorry to bump this old thread, but I had a similar question, but related to video files that are encrypted with.REM extensions. I tried the trick above of creating a new folder and moving the files there, but that didn't work. The files are still encrypted and cannot be played on my PC.

Our most recent information indicates that REM files are associated with only a single known file type, the BlackBerry Encrypted Data File format, and can be viewed with the Research In Motion BlackBerry Desktop Manager software package (developed by BlackBerry). Generally, these files are considered Uncommon Files.

The REM File Extension can be viewed on the Windows and Mac operating systems. They are supported on both desktop and mobile devices. The main REM file type has a Popularity Rating of 'Low', meaning these files are not frequently present on your typical desktop or mobile device.
